There are 8 employees rights which are:
- Employees should be given a written summary of their conditions of work;
- Right to compensation if employee is dismissed unfairly;
- If woman want to have a baby she has the right to time off;
- Employees have the right to take legal action against their employers;
- Women have the equal rights to do the same work in the same conditions as men;
- "equal pay for work of equal value";
- Employee has the right to be the member of trade union;
- Employees have the right to strike.
Practically, all European countries belong to European Community and mostly of them have the same employment legislation. There arse some controversial questions between EC countries. For example, whether there should be a standard minimum wage or Sunday trading problems.
"There are fewer employment laws in Japan than in many Western countries." But it does not mean that employees have fewer rights. Japanese workers have more security than many employees in western countries.
